Organic farming offers great potential to achieve the ecological, economic and social goals of European agricultural policy. The focus of this study is on the evaluation of the ÖPUL measures of the Austrian CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 to achieve the area targets defined in the Organic Action Program 23+ (30% by 2027; 35% by 2030). Based on this, recommendations will be developed to sustainably increase the proportion of organically managed land and farms and the production of organic products along the entire value chain. This evaluation provides a sound basis for the strategic further development of the CAP Strategic Plan and its effectiveness in the context of national and European sustainability goals.
