The Advisory Tools group supports the transfer of knowledge between research, advisory services and practice. We use both analogue and digital communication channels for this purpose. In close collaboration between researchers, advisors and organic farmers, we produce technical guides with well-founded recommendations for practitioners. Dossiers provide comprehensive information on cross-cutting issues in organic farming and sustainability topics. Fact sheets summarise the state of research knowledge on a topic in a comprehensible way. All FiBL publications are available to download free of charge online at shop.fibl.org. Selected publications can also be purchased in print for a fee.
The magazine Bioaktuell, which is published jointly by FiBL and Bio Suisse, covers current topics in organic farming, the organic market, agricultural policy and social issues relating to the organic movement. Bioaktuell.ch is the platform for Swiss organic farmers online. This is where the people involved in the organic movement communicate news, event dates, background information and practical recommendations. Subscribers to the e-mail newsletter receive regular information on the most important news.
The YouTube channel "FiBLFilm" shows innovations from organic farming research and practice in short technical videos. Since 2021, the "FiBL Focus" podcast has complemented the offer on knowledge transfer. Interviews and discussions on the latest findings from science and practice relating to agriculture, animal welfare and environmental protection are published every two weeks.
Advisory tools are also an integral part of project communication and dissemination. This is where the close collaboration with the Project Communication, Advisory & Training and Graphics groups comes into play.
