Green Innovation Centres in the Agriculture and Food Sector - Working Group on Organic Agriculture

Original titleGreen Innovation Centres in the Agriculture and Food Sector - Working Group on Organic Agriculture
Abstract

The development of the agri-food industry is of central importance for feeding the growing world population and satisfy the increasing demand for high-quality and safe food in a resource-conserving and socially acceptable way. The GIZ-Project “Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector (GIC)” as part of the BMZ-initiative “One World Without Hunger” supports this goal. Together with IFOAM – Organics International and Naturland, FiBL provides support for GIC partners in seven African countries as well as India on topics around sustainable and organic agriculture. In close consultation with the partners, FiBL will elaborate training materials for trainers and farmers and will also organize training courses on site. Taking into consideration latest research results for the African and Indian context, training materials will focus on the agricultural products and value chains prioritized by the GIC-partners as well as local production conditions and challenges.
