Little is known about the quality of milk from cows that are not only milked but also suckle calves, especially in terms of processing quality. Milk processors are wondering whether milk from cow-calf contact systems can be processed in the same way. Therefore, relevant milk quality parameters need to be determined in order to carry out comparative studies on the milk quality of exclusively milked cows and cows that also suckle on practical farms.
