Swiss production of organic raspberries for processing

Original titleSchweizer Produktion von Biohimbeeren für die Verarbeitung
Abstract

The domestic supply of organic processing fruit (apples, pears, cherries, plums, apricots, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, tree nuts, etc.) varies greatly depending on the type of fruit. Therefore a high proportion of certain types of fruit is imported. In 2021, FiBL conducted a market survey on behalf of Coop to determine the current and future demand for organic processed fruits. The survey showed that a higher share of domestically produced organic processed products, especially for raspberries and strawberries, is desired by processors and is also economically feasible under favorable conditions. The project aims to improve the availability and competitiveness of Swiss organic processed raspberries in cooperation with Coop suppliers.
