The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL processes this data in the context of the offers listed above for the purpose of presenting the company and its services and communicating with customers and interested parties via social media channels.
In addition, the respective providers of the social media channels may use the profile and behavioural data they collect, for example to evaluate habits or personal relationships.
The social media channels used can analyse your usage behaviour when you visit their website. Visiting our social media channels can trigger data protection-relevant processing operations.
With the help of the collected data, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles where your preferences and interests are stored. This way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you within and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

The legal basis for the processing of data by us is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
Our legitimate interest is the use of an efficient communication channel for timely and targeted communication with customers and interested parties as well as the presentation of the company and its services.
You can object to the processing of your data on the basis of this legal provision at any time.
(1) If you visit one of our social media channels, we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. In principle, you can assert your rights (information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) against both us and the operator of the respective social media portal.
(2) Under the applicable laws, you have various rights with regard to your personal data.
If you exercise your right to object, please explain the reasons why your personal data should not be processed. In the event of your justified objection, we will forward the objection to the person responsible for the respective social media channel for examination of the situation and decision.
You can also exercise your right to object directly with the respective operator of the social media platforms. Please contact them directly.
You can also assert all other rights directly against the operator of the social media channel. You can find information on this under the links listed above for the individual social media channels.
If you would like to assert these rights against us, please send your request by email or mail to the above address, clearly identifying yourself.
(3) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.
(4) If you are of the opinion that your data protection rights have been violated, you can contact a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. in England the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which will in any case forward the complaint to the competent supervisory authority.
