Innovative and integrative agroforestry in Africa: strengthening rural livelihoods and resilience to climate change

Abstract

The "GALILEO" project focuses on genuine cooperation among various stakeholders by developing context-specific, people-centered and innovative agroforestry solutions. The focus lies on agricultural systems in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in agro-pastoral (agriculture and livestock), agroforestry (agriculture and trees) and agro-silvo-pastoral (agriculture, trees and livestock in combination) regions.

The aim is to strengthen agroforestry as an effective strategy for coping with climate change - not only in agriculture but in households as well as society in general. At the same time, the project promotes biodiversity and contributes to a more sustainable future.
