Calf feeding with minimized concentrates

Original titleKraftfutterminimierte Kälberfütterung
Abstract

Minimizing the amount of concentrated feed given to ruminants is important with regard to efficient grassland utilization and the careful use of resources. There is still hardly any research on reducing concentrates in calf rearing. All current teaching materials present concentrate feeding to calves as essential. The project examines the question of how calves develop with and without concentrates, which differences appear, and how economical the two feeding regimes are.
