Biodiversity is one of the foundations of our existence, a major and complex issue – and one that is often overlooked. From FiBL's point of view, a high biodiversity on the farm is an important pillar of good organic farming. For this reason, we will be giving a number of specialists the opportunity to share their views on the importance of biodiversity in agriculture in our "Voices on Biodiversity" series.

This time, it's Peter Haldemann's turn. He is an organic farmer in Raperswilen in the canton of Thurgau. The arable crops and pig farmer is a member of the board of the Thurgau Agriculture Association and is involved with the SVP in the Thurgau cantonal parliament as well as on the municipal council of his home town, where he is responsible for the water supply, among other things.
