FiBL Germany will have a new management team starting in January 2025. The long-standing Managing Director of FiBL Germany e.V. and FiBL Projekte GmbH , Dr Robert Hermanowski, is retiring.

At the board meeting of FiBL Germany e.V. and the shareholders' meeting of FiBL Projekte GmbH on 19 June 2024, the members of the new management team introduced themselves, presented their concept for the future and were officially appointed by both the board and the shareholders. FiBL Germany e.V. (e.V is the German designation for a registered non-profit organisation) and FiBL Projekte GmbH (a joint institution involving FiBL and several other organisations) together employ approximately 75 people.

Rebecca Franz-Wippermann will take over the management of FiBL Germany e.V. beginning in January 2025. She is grounded in agricultural research and the head of the Circular Animal Husbandry division at FiBL. "My heart beats for research and I am looking forward to the opportunity to strengthen FiBL Germany in its position as an interface between research, advisory services and practice", says Franz-Wippermann.

Co-management for FiBL Projekte GmbH

Vera Bruder and Frank Wörner will take over as co-managers of FiBL Projekte GmbH. Both are long-standing employees of FiBL Germany. The agronomist Vera Bruder has been with FiBL since 2013 and heads the FiBL Academy, which is known throughout Germany for running the Organic Field Days, the trainee programme and advisory training courses. "I would like to continue and intensify our networks in practical agriculture and advisory services in my future role as Managing Director," says Bruder.

Frank Wörner is a founding member of FiBL Germany and Head of Controlling. "With our three-person management team, we are heralding a generational change and want to successfully carry the FiBL spirit into the future", says Wörner.

Prof. Dr Jürgen Hess, Chairman of the Board of FiBL Germany, describes the process for the change in leadership. "We have been preparing the change for over a year and have been discussing the succession with a search committee made up of members of the Board, representatives from the divisional management and the Works Council, and have been looking for suitable candidates. We are delighted that we were able to appoint the new management team from within our own ranks", says Hess, adding: "Robert Hermanowski advised us during this process and shared his valuable experience from 23 years at FiBL. Under and with him, FiBL has become an important network for development, research and transfer in the organic agriculture and food sector."
