This year's Agrobiodiversity Summer School will take place in central Germany from 17 to 27 August 2025, jointly organised by ZHAW and FiBL. It is aimed primarily at Master's students; the application deadline is 13 February 2025.

Accompanied by local experts, students from all over Europe will discuss the various aspects of agrobiodiversity and resilient food systems. The different scientific and cultural perspectives of the participants are important for examining the topic of agrobiodiversity and food systems.

The Summer School 2025 will take place in the border region of the three federal states of Hesse, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, which is characterised by a beautiful low mountain range landscape with various national parks and a high diversity of agricultural systems with agrobiodiversity concepts.

The Summer School is mainly aimed at students enrolled in a Master's programme related to agricultural science, environment, food technologies and processing, rural development, sustainability assessment or associated topics. Bachelor students are also invited to apply, but will be given second priority. Students with limited financial resources also have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.

The number of participants is limited to 30. The application deadline is 13 February 2025. Detailed information is available on the Summer School website (see links below).

This year, FiBL Switzerland, FiBL Germany and the ZHAW Geography of Food Research Group are involved in planning and organising the Summer School.
