Alternaria-tolerant carrots for juice production

Original titleAlternaria-tolerante Karotten für die Saftproduktion
Abstract

Alternaria Leaf Blight is a major leaf disease of carrots caused by the fungus Alternaria dauci. Heavy infestation with A. dauci makes mechanical harvesting impossible and increases the use of plant protection products.

The aim of the project is to select and evaluate juice carrot varieties with tolerance to A. dauci. In addition to tolerance, the focus lies also on taste aspects and agronomic characteristics such as yield.
