Organic Influencer Marketing - Improving Market Access for Farmers and Strengthening Demand for Organic Products through Social Media in Kenya

Abstract

The project works with partners in Kenya to increase the awareness and consumption of organic food via social media influencer marketing and by making access to organic products easier via an e-commerce platform. The overall goal of the project is to drive interest and growth for domestic organic produce as a means to promote sustainable agricultural production practices and generate relevant income for smallholders in rural areas.
Overall project coordination is with FiBL. The Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) is working to strengthen the access to organic food via improved marketing of the Kilimohai organic brand and setting up an e-commerce platform for organic products. WOWZI – a Kenyan startup is working with all partners to define and implement effective social media influencer campaigns.
