In Kosovo, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ) aims to promote the competitiveness of the private sector in rural areas as a means to stimulate rural development and income generation. For the region in the Šar/Sharri Mountains, a regional marketing and branding concept is elaborated to better communicate what the region is offering in terms of agricultural produce and tourist attractions. By using a participatory approach, the project aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and capacities among private sector stakeholders, civil society and public institutions.
