SIAL Paris, one of the world’s most influential international food exhibitions, returns this year, bringing together over 150,000 retailers and food producers from 127 countries. Through the Swiss-Ukrainian Program "Higher Value-Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine" (QFTP), implemented by FiBL Switzerland in partnership with SAFOSO, Switzerland is supporting 11 Ukrainian organic and dairy producers to showcase their products and explore new partnerships and opportunities.

From cereals, fruits, and honey, to whole milk products, hard cheeses, and baby food, organic and dairy producers have, for the first time, a National Stand of Ukraine at the SIAL conference. These producers are bringing a wide array of food products to the limelight this year.

Switzerland, through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), has been a key supporter of Ukraine’s organic and dairy sectors, facilitating producers' participation in major food and agriculture conventions like ANUGA, BIOFACH, and the Middle East Organic & Natural Products Expo. Ukraine’s presence in such world-renowned events has created new business opportunities and promoted Ukraine’s excellence in the organic and dairy sectors, leading to numerous export success stories.

"We are constantly working to create opportunities for Ukrainian producers to enter international markets," said Oleksii Grushetskyi, Deputy Director for Export Promotion in Ukraine’s Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office (EEPO), which co-organized the National Stand of Ukraine at SIAL Paris 2024 and other past conferences. "Together with our partners, we are facilitating the export of organic and dairy products, and offering a range of services for both export-ready companies and those who are just planning export activities. We are confident that the conference will yield fruitful results and open even more opportunities for Ukrainian exporters of organic and dairy products". Toralf Richter, an organic trade expert from FiBL Switzerland and the project implementor, adds, "Organising national stands at international exhibitions is the most effective tool for export promotion and matchmaking for Ukrainian exporters."

Ukraine's participation in the SIAL international trade fair this year was made possible through the collaboration of Ukrainian state and private organizations along with various international partners, such as Switzerland, the European Union, and Germany, under sector development programs aimed at boosting the competitiveness and export potential of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The presence of Ukraine’s dairy and organic sectors at SIAL Paris 2024 marks an important step in expanding the country’s agricultural exports and strengthening its presence in global food markets.
