New co-hosted side event - The Organic Farmers Fair (TOFF)
The organic farming sector is rapidly growing. At the same time, there is an increasing pressure on agriculture to work cleaner and more sustainably. With the addition of TOFF to GreenTech Amsterdam 2018, an exclusive group of exhibitors, specialized in seeds and seedlings, fertilizers, compost resources, bio-pesticides, weed control systems, soil cultivation, research and advice will host a separate hall at RAI Amsterdam. Visitors can attend both Green Tech and TOFF.
In line with the GreenTech Amsterdam, a dedicated knowledge programme will be designed by the following founding fathers of TOFF: Bejo (specialized in breeding, production and distribution of vegetable seeds), Delphy (focussing on the development of knowledge on crop cultivation and the optimization of cultivation conditions), DCM (producing fertilizers, soils, substrates etc.), the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, Koppert Biological Systems (specialized in Biocontrol), Steketee (focusing on the development of weeding and soil cultivation machines) as well as IFOAM - Organics International. Wageningen UR will be one of the supporting knowledge partners.
Realisation of two extra knowledge-sharing pavilions
This year, for the first time, GreenTech Amsterdam will host a "Precision Horticulture pavilion" where innovative techniques related to greenhouse management, including latest hard- and software solutions, will be presented.
Furthermore, the "Medicinal & Nutraceutical pavilion" allows its visitors to find out about latest developments related to plant health.
In line with the last edition of GreenTech Amsterdam, knowledge sessions are held at the three so-called theatres. The "Vertical Farming pavilion" together with AVF, the Association for Vertical Farming, the GreenTech Innovation Awards, the InnovationLAB, the Innovation route and a cooperation of renowned flower and vegetable breeders are again present at GreenTech Amsterdam 2018.
Exclusive Summit on how to feed and green the world by 2028
On 11 June, one day before the official start of GreenTech Amsterdam and the TOFF, the high-tech Summit, tackling the issue how to feed and green the world by 2028, will be hosted at RAI Amsterdam for the second time. The programme is conducted by a special Summit Committee, an international group of well-known experts from different relevant fields.
