It brings together traders, certification bodies and authorities to exchange information, and come to better practices and better cooperation to reduce the incidence of fraud and irregularities in the organic trade in and into the European market.
The coming meeting will inform about and discuss the certifiers’ and traders’ Codes of Conduct, report about the recent workshop in Italy and results from the scientific organic food authentication workshop. Presentations will focus on the effectiveness and relevance of pesticide testing, the role of authorities for prevention of fraud, on a private sector integrity program and a proposal on how to continue with AFI. In break out sessions the certifiers will discuss their code but also techniques and results of risk oriented inspection, the traders will discuss their code and related toolboxes, and the authorities cross border communication.
