Grassland-based Progress: food autonomy and land development in the canton of Vaud

Abstract

This project aims to contribute to strengthen feed local autonomy by focusing on two areas of the canton of Vaud, the foot of the Jura region and Jorat-Broye.

Pricing pressure and an international context push local farmers to find solutions to optimize costs and improve the income of their farms. In addition, the new agricultural policy, which starts in 2014, predicts increase incentives that encourage feed cows on grass.

This project involves several institutional stakeholders to accompany farmers in their development and to support the quality products market.
