Collaboration between Ariza BV and FiBL in the evaluation of suppliers and the long term supply security of primary material for processing

Abstract

ARIZA is one of the leading processing- and trading companies of organic certified fruit concentrates and fruit preserves. Ariza processes over 20 metric tons of fruit and berries in company-owned factories in Holland and Turkey.
Because of the rapid development of the market of organic produce, the availability of raw material for processing in good quality and in sufficient quantity is more important than ever before. This situation requires urgent consolidation and possibly expansion of the supply of raw material.
Ariza regularly evaluates additional sources of hard- and soft fruit for industrial processing. For the creation of consolidated supplier network, identification as well as in depth evaluation of potential suppliers is of vital importance. As a basis for its strategic decisions, Ariza is in need of external expertise to evaluate potential suppliers and supply chains.
FiBL is assigned to carry out supplier evaluations and risk assessments in Argentina, China, Poland, Ukraine, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Turkey, Italy and Spain. Additionally FiBL develops and implements Improvement Action Plans for major suppliers.
