Soil tillage experiment Schlatthof (Aesch trial)

Original titleBodenbearbeitungsversuch Schlatthof (Aesch-Versuch)
Abstract

The effects of reduced tillage on a loess soil are tested at Schlatthof, Aesch (Canton Baselland). In the trial, reduced tillage (5 cm deep loosening and turning) is compared with conventional ploughing (22 cm deep). Fertilization is done with liquid manure or, in comparison, with mineral commercial fertilizers. Both fertilizers are applied at a low and a high level in addition to a non-fertilized control. Yield, humus changes and weed population are measured.
