Multifunktionale Gründüngen – angepasst und wirksam für den Bioanbau

Original titleMélanges de couverts végétaux multifonctionnels, adaptés et performants pour le bio
Abstract

The establishment of cover crops remains a weak point in organic farming, due to the fear of weeds and the lack of suitable tools. Seed companies offer unsuitable mixtures based on conventional recipes. Although interesting, the AgriVulg (agricultural extension service) leaflet has not been adapted to organic farming.

The current impasses show that it is necessary to:

  • take into account the real needs in organic farming, local contexts, new objectives (microclimate regulation, carbon storage)
  • sort out all the species that can be used,
  • provide new knowledge for organic conditions to interested firms and to farmers who make their own mixtures.

This project aims at:

  • providing a decision support tool for developing specific, manageable and autonomous mixtures
  • a reconversion and redesign of the Agrivulg tool, integrating the FiBL and Agridea technical sheets
  • tests on platforms and on-farm trials
  • workshops with practitioners and firms to validate the pre-design work and new knowledge
