AbstractMany signs of interest in innovative production systems have appeared in French-speaking Switzerland in recent years. The project proposes to study the phenomenon of transition to this or these new models, more diversified, more autonomous, which are a break with the current model.
A microfarm is an agricultural structure characterized by:
- A search for autonomy in relation to agricultural policy, suppliers and/or customers
- Alternative farming practices - and more generally a production system - compared to the current dominant model
- Special attention to the protection of natural resources.
The secondary characteristics of a microfarm are:
- The diversity of activities carried out
- An intensification of production (in terms of production volume per unit area) compared to the current agricultural model
- Practices (cultural, governance or marketing) related to permaculture.
Project objectives:
- Describe the transition phenomenon that allows the creation of micro-farms
- Characterize the mechanism and cost of this transition
- Identify the levers for efficient implementation
