Inception phase for Northern Africa Organic Knowledge Hub "Being part of the Network of African Organic Knowledge centers"

Résumé

The German development cooperation identified opportunities in organic farming in Africa to contribute to food security and other SDG challenges. The German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) mandated GIZ to implement an organic knowledge management project together with African partner organizations. GIZ has initiated and started collaboration with four knowledge hubs in Western, Eastern, Southern and North Africa considering the specific cultural and agro-ecological zones and conditions in each region.

In that context, Sekem Freunde Deutschland e.V. has signed a contract with GIZ to implement an inception phase for the hub in North Africa. The idea is to set up during the inception phase the structures and knowledge flow processes. After the inception phase of 6 months, the project should be fully operational in the main phase and impact shall develop on a broad base and sustain after project implementation.
Sekem Freunde Deutschland e.V. hires a research backstopper to support the baseline and fact finding research in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco in an assignment of 12 working days from 21 October 2019 – 20 April 2020. This document describes the terms of references of this position.
