Musonda Mumba, the Secretary General of the (Ramsar) Convention on Wetlands, is our next "Voice on climate". In time for Climate Week in Ethiopia, which aims to bridge the gap between climate promises and action on the ground, the third part of our new series reflects on the importance of wetlands and restoration efforts, and the responsibility of science.

Musonda Mumba has dedicated 25 years to environmental management and sustainable development, holds a PhD in Wetland Hydrology and Conservation and was named one of the 100 most influential African women. In the video "The role of wetland in regulating climate", she offers us an insight into her personal connection to wetlands and answers why we are dependent on wetlands and what role they play in climate resilience. The main points from the video are also available in text form.
